What is Islam?
The word "Islam" comes from an Arabic root that carries two beautiful meanings at once: peace and surrender. To be a Muslim is to find inner peace by willingly placing your trust in the One God who created you. It is not a heavy burden but a homecoming, a way of living in harmony with your Creator and with everything around you.
Islam teaches that there is one God, the same God worshipped by Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, peace be upon them all. Muslims do not see Islam as a brand-new religion that appeared fourteen centuries ago. Instead, it is the final chapter of one continuous message that God sent through every prophet since the very first human being.
At its heart, Islam answers the questions we all carry: Where do I come from? Why am I here? What happens next? The answer it offers is gentle and clear. You were created by a loving God, you are here to know and worship Him, and you are returning to Him. Everything else grows from that simple truth.
You do not need to be perfect to begin, and you do not need to understand everything at once. Islam welcomes you exactly as you are, today, with all your questions and imperfections. Every prophet started with a single step of trust. This journey is yours to walk at your own pace, and you are not walking it alone.
