Belief in Divine Decree
The sixth article of faith is belief in divine decree, known in Arabic as Qadar. It means trusting that nothing in the universe happens by accident or outside of God's knowledge and wisdom. He is aware of all that was, is, and will be, and everything unfolds within His perfect plan, even when we cannot see the reason.
This belief does not erase your free will. You still make real choices and are responsible for them. Qadar simply means that, alongside your efforts, God's wisdom is always at work. You plant the seed and water it, but the growth rests in His hands. You do your part with sincerity and leave the outcome trustingly to Him.
For many believers, Qadar is a deep source of peace. When hardship comes, it reminds you that you are not adrift in a random, meaningless world. There is a wise and loving God holding everything, including the difficult moments, for a purpose you may understand later or only in the life to come.
As a newcomer, you do not need to untangle every philosophical question about destiny and choice. Hold it simply: do your best, then trust God with the rest. This balance, of effort and surrender together, lifts a great weight from the heart. You are never carrying your life alone; God's wisdom carries it with you.
