The Six Articles of Faith

While the Five Pillars are what a Muslim does, the Six Articles of Faith are what a Muslim believes in the heart. They describe the unseen reality that surrounds us and give a clear picture of how God relates to His creation. Holding these beliefs sincerely is the inner side of being Muslim.

The first article is belief in Allah, the one Creator with no partner. The second is belief in His angels, noble beings who serve Him. The third is belief in His revealed books, the scriptures He sent to guide humanity, of which the Quran is the final one.

The fourth article is belief in His messengers, the long chain of prophets from Adam to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The fifth is belief in the Last Day, when every person will be raised and held to account. The sixth is belief in divine decree, that nothing happens outside of God's knowledge and wisdom.

Together these six form a complete worldview. They tell you who God is, how He communicates, where history is heading, and that your life is held within His care. You do not have to grasp every detail at once. Read them gently, one by one, and let each one settle peacefully into your heart.
